Bugonia is described twice in the second half of Virgil's Georgics and frames the Aristaeus epyllion in the second half. The first description, opening the second half of the fourth book, describes a 'traditional' form of the ritual, followed by the tale of Aristaeus, who after losing his bees, descends to the home of his mother, the nymph. The second half of the chapter returns to Bernard, who feels inadequate. Although an Alpha Plus, Bernard worries over his short stature (due, apparently, to a mistake during his decanting as a test-tube embryo). Because of this, he feels like a social "outsider": "I am I, and wish I wasn't.".

About two weeks ago bought a machinist chest full of stuff. Among other things, it contained half of what looks like a starrett trammel (See pics below). It looks like there is a fitting on one end to extend the beam but it's missing the second thing to hold the trammel point. Having half a trammel is a bit like having one shoe. This one has a slightly different plot than some of the others, which is a nice twist, although the second half of the book seems kind of repetitive of other Sharpe books. I did enjoy the description of the plunder of the wagons at the end though.
